Alumnus to serve on national council

    Charles Tegen, a 1974 business graduate of Southern Wesleyan University, has been appointed to serve on the National Governmental Accounting Standards Advisory Council.

    Tegen, who is comptroller at Clemson University, was also recognized as an outstanding alumnus, receiving a professional excellence award in 2010. The 30-member council provides input to the Governmental Accounting Standards Board, the independent, not-for-profit board that establishes and improves accounting standards used in federal, state and local governmental accounting and financial reporting.
