Southern Wesleyan University Chaplain, Rev. Ken Dill, presents Alyssa Conner of Central with a towel – a symbol of Christian service – during a “Ceremony of the Servants,” which was part of Baccalaureate Chapel Dec. 13 in the auditorium of Newton Hobson Chapel and Fine Arts Center on the campus in Central. Conner graduated from Southern Wesleyan with a music degree. The purpose of the ceremony is to offer a challenge for graduates of the university to find ways to serve the needs of people throughout the world. Rev. Scott Frost, an instructor in Southern Wesleyan’s Division of Religion, gave a sermon challenging the graduating students to walk humbly and serve others.
