Charleston student named Teacher of Year

    Deirdre Frayer, a current student in the Charleston MEDAS cohort, was nominated Teacher of the Year at Clay Hill Middle School, located in Dorchester School District 4.

    The award ceremony was hosted by the Greater Summerville/ Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce and held May 29 at Bethany United Methodist Church in Summerville. She was announced by superintendent Jerry Mountjoy and was given a plaque from Chamber President Rita Berry. Frayer graduated from Hunter College in New York City, has taught 21 years and serves as the ELA Department Head.
