‘Heaven is For Real’ preview draws record crowd

More than a thousand people lined up along Wesleyan Drive April 11 waiting for the pre-release showing of “Heaven is For Real” at Newton Hobson auditorium.

“Heaven is For Real,” based on the #1 New York Times best-selling book of the same name, portrays the true story of a small-town father who must find the courage and conviction to share his son’s extraordinary, life-changing experience with the world. The movie will open in theaters April 16.

Pastor Mark Stevenson of Heritage Wesleyan Church brought a group from Whitmire to Southern Wesleyan University in Central in enough time to get to the front of a rapidly growing line that passed the thousand mark. Pictured with Stevenson is his wife Pepsi, their son Mark and friends J.D. Drukenmiller, Qwynton Drukenmiller and Jeremy Fish. Their daughter, Chelsi Stevenson, is a junior at Southern Wesleyan.
