January Fine Arts events at Southern Wesleyan University

    Upper Region Honor Choir (free – no ticket)

    January 20, 2012, 7 p.m.

    The South Carolina Upper Region Honor Choir, composed of more than 200 high school students, will present a Friday evening program Jan. 20 at Southern Wesleyan University, in the Newton Hobson Chapel and Fine Arts Center, located on the campus in Central. Dr. Don R. Campbell, Southern Wesleyan’s professor of music and director of choral activities, has been honored to be the guest conductor of this choir for more than 10 years. Jane Dill, chair of Southern Wesleyan’s Fine Arts Division and professor of music, is the accompanist for the choir. Admission is free.  For details, call (864) 508-0555

    “The Commedia Cinderella”

    January 30, 7:30 p.m.

    Adults, $5; Children under 12 and all students with ID – FREE

    Returning for their 2012 performance, actors from the Charlotte Children’s Theatre will return to Southern Wesleyan University, presenting a unique approach to the familiar story of Cinderella. The names have been changed, but the facts remain the same. Children of all ages will enjoy this presentation at Newton Hobson Chapel and Fine Arts Center on the campus in Central.
