What can you do
with a major in
Communication?
Almost anything.

standup

Communication doesn’t just happen on radio, television, the Internet or via text messages.  It happens in homes, board rooms, concert halls, and out on the street. It happens when you are alone, with a few good friends, or in a room with a thousand people.

Communication is an act that is distinctly human. Moreover, communication is a gift, a human ability granted to us by our Creator, given for the purpose of serving Him. As communication scholar Quentin Schultze says, “God’s gift of communication equips us to represent the Creator on earth.”

Southern Wesleyan’s new major in communication is being designed with these principles in mind. Communication can take many forms, but no matter how we approach it, we must be stewards of this great gift. We must understand how communication works, examine how communication is used (and misused), and then seek ways to use it that bring honor to God and our community.

Then, anything is possible.
