Leadership Symposium

July 10-12, 2013
Central, South Carolina

The week of July 10-12, 2013, the Southern Wesleyan University School of Education will host a three-day leadership symposium for regional education leaders from the Upstate region of South Carolina. The symposium is free of charge for those registering by April 30. For those registering after April 30, registration will be $30.

This year’s leadership symposium will build upon the foundation of last year’s, focusing on using the ConneXions model and employing it to do the work of curriculum design. An emphasis will be placed on the need to address the culture, beliefs and worldview of both leaders and stakeholders who are expected to implement change. Attendance at last year’s symposium is not required in order to participate this year.

Robert Walter, facilitator for last year’s symposium, and an international leadership development expert from LeaderSource SGA (www.leadersource.org) will provide the primary content of the symposium. LeaderSource SGA uses a 5C model for leadership development, which emphasizes the vital nature of Christ, community, character, calling and competencies in healthy leadership.
