Pre-Vetrerinary Medicine

There are only 28 programs offering a degree in veterinary medicine in the U. S. and 5 in Canada. (Go here to see the list.) Programs in the South are as follows: Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, NC State, Tuskegee, and the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (VMRCVM). These programs are very competitive.

If your state does not have a veterinary school, they may have arrangements with another state such that you would not have to pay out-of-state tuition. The Southern Regional Education Board has information on such programs.
