Science Division - Math
The SWU mathematics program is a program with a Christian orientation-we believe that God created the universe with mathematical properties, and that He has given us the desire and the ability to discover and understand mathematical concepts. A Christian worldview informs all of our courses. All students are required to take classes in Bible. (See page giving the fundamental assumptions of the Science Division)
B.S. Mathmatics Education Requirements
We feature a cooperative program with Clemson University, which is about five miles away, allowing students to take courses that we can't offer because of faculty load. This includes linear algebra and abstract algebra, for mathematics majors. This means that all our math majors have the opportunity to experience a small, intimate environment in instruction, and also a large state university environment. Both experiences are valuable in teaching our students to adjust, and to learn about different styles of doing things.
