Pre-Law

Most colleges and universities have no set pre-law degree, and most law schools are looking for candidates with strong written and oral communication skills, along with good analytical thinking skills.

The English major offers a strong foundation in all of these critical areas. Graduates from Southern Wesleyan University’s English program have completed their law degrees at the University of South Carolina, University of Kentucky, University of Alabama, and Emory University, to name a few.

For a stronger application, the student should consider a second major in a field such as history, business, or psychology.
