

Application Requirements
Applying to Southern Wesleyan is a simple process. Below, you’ll find the requirements and steps to applying for freshmen, transfer students, and international students. If you’re a working adult or looking for graduate programs, click here.
Freshmen
Requirements
If you’re applying as an incoming freshman, you must have:
A high school diploma or its equivalent. Your high school courses should include at least:
Four units of English (college-preparation or equivalent)
Two units of science
Two units of social studies
Two units of mathematics
A GPA of 2.3 (or rank in upper half of your graduating class at time of acceptance)
A composite SAT score of 860 (based on the critical reading/verbal and math sections) or an ACT score of 18
To apply:
Complete your application (pdf) and submit it along with your $25 (U.S. dollars) application fee (non-refundable).
Have your official high school transcript sent to us.
Request that your SAT or ACT test score be sent to us. (Already taken the test? You can request additional scores on the ACT website or the SAT website.)
Complete the Southern Wesleyan University physical examination form (pdf).
Submit your housing form (pdf) and the $200 (U.S. dollars) security deposit (for residents students only).
Pay the $300 (U.S. dollars) tuition deposit.
Register for academic orientation.
Transfer Students
Requirements
If you’re applying as a transfer student, you will need:
A transcript of all academic work from every college and university you’ve attended.
A GPA of at least 2.0.

Complete your application (pdf) and submit it along with your $25 (U.S. dollars) application fee (non-refundable)
Complete the Southern Wesleyan University physical examination form (pdf)
Submit your housing form (pdf) and the $200 (U.S. dollars) security deposit (for residents students only)
Pay the $300 (U.S. dollars) tuition deposit
Register for academic orientation
International Students
Requirements
If you’re an international student, you will need:
A high school diploma or its equivalent.
A GPA of 2.0, or you must rank in upper half of your graduating class at the time of acceptance.
A composite SAT score of 860 or ACT score of 18.
A TOEFL score of 500 (for the paper test) and 173 (for the computer test) if English is not your primary language.
To apply:
Complete your application (pdf), and submit it with your non-refundable $25 (U.S.) application fee.
Provide 2 recent photographs with your application (optional).
Submit an official transcript in English or with translation.
Have your official SAT or ACT test score sent to SWU.
Have your TOEFL scores sent to SWU (if English is not your primary language).
Complete the Southern Wesleyan University physical examination form (pdf).
Turn in your housing form (pdf) and $200 (U.S. Dollars) security deposit.
Submit a Declaration of Finances form listing scholarships and grants.
Once you’re accepted, you will need to:
Provide a deposit equal to first year's expenses.
Report to American Consulate and submit your I-20 to obtain a student visa.
Arrive at school no later than appointed date on your visa.
Show proof of health insurance to Business Office.
Register for academic orientation.
