It’s about growing

For Guy Howard, a transfer student and a member of the Warriors Baseball Team, life at Southern Wesleyan University was a time for growing.

It’s about relationships

“I think it’s been one of the best choices spiritually,” Howard said. “I’ve grown profoundly.” This was also a time of building relationships with Howard’s teammates and friends, but mostly with Christ. Helping him along his spiritual journey were his teammates and his involvement with Ignite, an on-campus group associated with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).

It’s about the people at SWU

“The people stand out – the students, faculty and administration are very open and warm,” Howard said.

A Math Education graduate, Howard is also grateful for the influence of his professors in the Education program, saying that the School of Education does a good job of preparing you from every angle from how to teach to working with students on various levels.

To anyone seeking a college or university, Howard gives this advice:

“I would say that if you’re looking for a close-knit community with an opportunity to grow and find yourself and the Lord. This would be a great place to go.”
