Finding balance.

"How can we finish, or start, a college degree when the demands of family and work take up every waking moment of our lives? Is it possible to find a balance between things that are important and things that are really important?

When I faced this challenge a few years ago, I discovered a solution in Southern Wesleyan University. I quickly learned that spending two nights per week in the company of God and friends was not only manageable, it was meaningful and enjoyable, too. I completed my bachelor’s degree in a field that was a perfect fit for me and was further inspired to complete my master's degree in that same field of study.

I have had the pleasure of learning from talented instructors who not only teach but challenge students to demonstrate their knowledge in class and on the job. I found a noticeable difference in how I approached my day-to-day tasks on the job and how I approached my faith. Southern Wesleyan University helped me uncover the confidence I had all along and it is with that confidence that I have recently returned to college to earn my Ph. D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Although I am not sure where life will take me, I know that SWU is behind me all the way."
