Jill Clark

M.Ed. North Augusta

Program fits goals of North Augusta graduate

Jill A. Clark, a North Augusta graduate and a native of McCormick, S.C., said getting her master's degree fulfilled a lifelong goal.

When she wanted a master's degree program, the classes offered by SWU in North Augusta fit her busy schedule. A teacher at Lincoln County Elementary School, Clark earned a master's degree in education from Southern Wesleyan University 2007. She began her career as an after-school coordinator for the McCormick County School System's ARK program. Clark also taught at McCormick County Elementary School and Washington-Wilkes Elementary School.

Clark is a member of the school improvement committee at LCES as well as the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE). Clark was also named the 2008 Teacher of the year for the Lincoln County School system in Georgia, as well as Teacher of the year for elementary grades.

Another benefit of the SWU program Clark pointed out was the many great ideas she was able to take back to the classroom.

"I just got a smart board and wasn't too keen on it but my technology class helped," Clark said, adding that she was also able to create a lot of new lessons for use with her students.
