Feels like home
At 18, Michelle felt she was ready for a move out of her comfort zone – out of a community that had always provided more than enough support.
“I wanted to be in a place where I had to fully depend on God, so I came to Central, S.C. where the only thing constant in my life was Him,” Michelle said.
Seeing God at work
Shortly after arriving at Southern Wesleyan University, Michelle was reassured of God’s continuing presence and how He led her to a great new body of believers.
“I quickly formed lasting relationships with other students, faculty and staff,” Michelle said, adding that she stays involved in the SWU community as a Resident Assistant.
God is at work in Michelle’s life through faculty, staff and friends at SWU.
“Forty minutes up the road is a specialist who has directed me to complete healing from a childhood illness, she said. “God placed me here without me even knowing she existed. Our school nurse, Lori, has made the trip with me to see her several times.”
A nurturing, supportive community of grace
Michelle says she has found in SWU the community of caring people her heart has been longing for.
“At Southern Wesleyan I have been on both the giving and receiving end of God’s grace and love and will always treasure my time here.”
