Making friends while making memories

While earning her Human Services degree from SWU, Violet Stoltzfus feels she has gained knowledge about how to help fight social injustice among children and adults within our society.

“I also have a better understanding of the legal process and paper work that comes with social work and recognize the different areas I can choose to focus my energies on within my degree,” Stoltzfus said, adding that she plans to go overseas for a year and possibly pursue a masters degree in the future.

“The faculty members at SWU were helpful and so were the small classrooms. I could tell that most of my professors at SWU truly cared about my learning,” she said.

Stoltzfus says she has made special friends and the resident directors in her residence hall made a positive impact on her life.

“The friendships I have made in college are my dearest treasures! The memories I have made with these friendships have impacted my life and is something I hope will continue,” she said.

Stoltzfus adds, “Through everything I have learned in college, it has directly affected my relationship with Jesus. The combination of deep relationships with the people around me, along with my education, my struggles and all the things I was involved with changed my views of what an intimate relationship with Him really looks like.”
