| I would like to share with you an amazing story of how God touched my life. "My Freshman year of high school was going great. I made a lot of friends and became involved in clubs. The biggest highlight was winning Miss Freshman at the high school pageant. Two days after the pageant, I began to come down with what we thought was a cold. The doctor gave me medicine and I continued on with school. But the medicine wasn't helping. I kept running a fever, feeling very helpless, and soon I wasn't able to get out of bed to go to school. My Mom, who is a nurse, knew that something was not right. She took me back to the doctor. During this examination, he began rubbing my neck and it was extremely painful. The look on his face told me that I had more than a cold. He then told me that the lymph nodes in my neck were very large, along with the ones under my arms and at my pelvis. He sent me to the hospital for a CAT scan to see how big the lymph nodes were. While we were waiting for the results my Mom began to pray. The doctor walked in with a serious look of concern and sat beside me and said, "Of the 48 lymph nodes in your neck, 44 of them are enlarged as well as the ones under your arms and pelvis. I'm afraid you have Lymphoma, cancer of the lymph nodes. He recommended that I get a second opinion which resulted in the same report ... "you have lymphoma. It was then recommended that I have a biopsy to see what stage the cancer was in and to begin treatment. On the way home, I kept saying to myself ‘I can't have cancer. I'm 14 years old!' My family continued praying. The next week, I went for my biopsy. I had never been more afraid but prayed, ‘What time I am afraid I will trust in the Lord.' It would be three days before we would receive the report. We kept praying. When the phone rang that day, my Mom answered the phone. She began crying and with tears of joy said to me, ‘Tiffany, you don't have cancer - you're healed!' The doctor said he couldn't believe it' and added ‘you have mono!' I began to cry and praise God! I believe with everything in me that I was healed! Because of who God is, and all that he has done for me, I choose to live for him!" |
