Watts

Karen Watts has distinguished herself educationally. She is a graduate of Southern Wesleyan University (formerly Central Wesleyan College), where she graduated Cum Laude in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in church music. She is currently working towards a doctorate in instructional leadership from the University of Alabama, where she is a member of the Alpha Epsilon Lambda Graduate Honor Society. She has a degree in education leadership from the University of Alabama, where she graduated with honors.

Watts has a master’s degree in elementary education from Jacksonville State University, where she was a member of the Kappa Delta Epsilon Honor Society. She has received her national board certification and serves as director of the Child Development Program at Snead State Community College in Alabama.

She is an instructor in child development and developmental algebra, as well as the faculty advisor of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. Watts is a member of the Snead State Foundation Legacy Campaign Steering Committee, the Admissions Appeal/Student Discipline Committee and the Business Committee.

She is a member of Guntersville First United Methodist Church, where she is a member of the sanctuary choir, participant and leader in the Alabama Emmaus Community Walk and a participant in the Hospices Races and 5K Runs for Hope. Watts and her husband D. Jonathan have two children.
