From left, Sarah Beth Turner, Austin Patterson, instructor Chad Perry, Alee Moncus, Jayden Hood and Phillip Moncus build a fire beetle maze during Camp Invention, held June 6-10 at Southern Wesleyan University in Central.

The summer day camp for children in grades one through six presented concepts of science, technology, engineering and math in fun and engaging ways. Camp Invention was organized through a partnership with Invent Now Kids and sponsored by Duke Energy and Liberty Elementary School’s Learning Lab. Ashley Wood Perry, a Southern Wesleyan graduate, coordinated this year’s camp. This is the second year for Camp Invention at Southern Wesleyan.
