Patrick Hampton, a Southern Wesleyan University music education major, leads worship as part of the SWU Gospel Choir during a Feb. 23 chapel hosted by the Village, a discipleship group devoted to working through issues of spiritual formation common among minority students.

The chapel was devoted to influences of African-American culture on American society. Justin Carter, associate vice president for student life, was the chapel speaker. Hampton, a freshman from Spartanburg, is also a Call Me MISTER (Mentors Instructing Students Toward Effective Role Models) scholar.
