End-of-semester events at Southern Wesleyan University included a baccalaureate chapel service on May 5 in Newton Hobson Chapel and Fine Arts Center on the university’s campus in Central.

Dr. Roger Parrott, president of Belhaven University in Jackson, Miss., delivered the baccalaureate sermon. “I’m amazed at what God has done on this campus,” Parrot said to the graduating seniors. He urged the students to “catch the wind of God in their sails.”

“We must trust only in the wind of God because we don’t have the power on our own to navigate the waters ahead,” Parrot said. “The wind of God will never disappoint us.”

Part of the university’s baccalaureate chapel was a “Ceremony of the Servants” and a challenge for graduates of the university to find ways to serve the needs of others.
