Southern Wesleyan University offers new Business concentrations
No two individuals seeking professional development are on the exact same career path. With that in mind, Southern Wesleyan University is offering several areas of concentration to individuals who are seeking advanced degrees.
New concentrations are being offered in healthcare administration, leadership, management, project and quality management, and human resources.
Healthcare Administration courses, originally offered as a concentration in the master of business administration (MBA), will now also be also be an area of concentration in the master of science in management and leadership (MSML) degree, to the benefit of those entering or working within the growing healthcare industry.
A Leadership concentration, designed to prepare individuals for careers in executive and strategic leadership within almost any organization or industry, is being added to the university’s MBA program. The Leadership concentration’s focus is on developing strategic leadership skills needed for strategy development, organizational leadership, effective communication and collaboration and strong execution of strategic objectives.
A Management concentration, designed to teach individuals in-depth leadership skills and practical ways to manage teams, organizational change, and meeting organizational goals through teamwork, is being added as a concentration in the MSML program.
The Project and Quality Management concentration will prepare individuals for careers in total quality management, project management, business analysis, quality control management, project controlling and project implementation management. Project and Quality Management is available as a concentration within both the MBA and MSML program.
The Human Resources concentration, to be launched in August 2018, will prepare individuals for careers in human resources leadership within almost any organization or industry. This HR concentration would be helpful to those who wish to sit for the Professional in Human Resources® (PHR) exam for PHR certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) or for those who wish to recertify with HRCI. The Human Resources concentration will be available in both the MBA and MSML program.
