Members of the Denton Wesleyan Church team pitch in to help Superstorm Sandy victims. The church is pastored by 1989 SWU religion graduate Charlie Collins.

A team from Denton Wesleyan Church, Denton, N.C., traveled to the New York City area to help victims of Superstorm Sandy. The church, pastored by 1989 SWU religion graduate Charlie Collins, carried two truckloads of supplies Nov. 9 to be distributed to area residents. They partnered with Pastor Anthony Graham and New Hope Wesleyan Church in New York. The team distributed coats, blankets, food, water, diapers and cleaning supplies to more than 300 families in Brooklyn, N.Y. Some members of the team cleared fallen trees from Long Island residents’ yards.
