SWU athletics gives NCAA update

    Southern Wesleyan University applied for membership to the NCAA Division II on Feb. 1 of this year, following an internal feasibility study and approval of the board of trustees.

    The university was informed on Friday, July 12 by the NCAA membership committee that it’s formal application was not accepted.

    “We are disappointed that we were not accepted to continue in the NCAA application process,” said Chris Williams, SWU director of athletics. “We will meet as a university to decide the next steps for us in the process.”
