Southern Wesleyan University’s yearbook received an award and a trip to a yearbook production plant.

The recognition came from Jostens, the company Southern Wesleyan University uses to publish its yearbook. The university’s yearbook, “We Are One,” received Jostens’ Partnership in Excellence award for meeting all publication deadlines. The university also received a gift certificate for five people to tour one of Jostens’ yearbook facilities, dinner and overnight accommodations.

“I am so proud of the students who put this yearbook together. I think this is the best edition ever,” said SWU yearbook advisor Jackie Price. “The photos are outstanding the design is very creative and the text really captures the heart of this year at Southern Wesleyan University.”

Jennifer Potts of Fair Play was editor-in-chief of this edition of the yearbook. Ruth Nicholson of Pisgah Forest was assistant editor and will be editor-in-chief of next year’s edition. Next year’s assistant editor will be Ashley Joiner of Birmingham, Ala. Potts and Nicholson are biology majors and Joiner is a communications major.

Student photographers and other yearbook staff members also helped compose the award-winning edition, Price said.
