Southern Wesleyan University presented “The Music Man” at Folger Fine Arts Auditorium on the university’s campus in Central.

This Tony Award-winning Broadway hit tells the story of how con man Harold Hill, posing as a band organizer, sells instruments and uniforms to the naïve townsfolk of River City, intending to skip town with their cash. Marian the librarian becomes wise to Harold’s ploy, but begins to fall in love with him.

With memorable musical numbers including “Seventy-Six Trombones,” “Till There Was You” and “Lida Rose,” this musical entertained audiences of all ages with performances March 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26, 2011.
