The ‘Relentless’ pursuit

The ‘Relentless’ pursuit

Kenneth Wagner, a 2008 SWU alumnus and lead student pastor at Calvary Wesleyan church in Harrington, Del., was lead speaker for the Fellowship of the Called (FOTC), a two-day event, held March 28 and 29 on the Central campus of Southern Wesleyan University.

God was moving in mighty ways March 28 and 29 during Fellowship of the Called (FOTC), a two-day event at Southern Wesleyan University in Central.

This year’s theme was “Relentless,” focusing on three points: God’s relentless pursuit of us, our response to God, and the relentless pursuit of others.

The focus of FOTC is young men and women who are exploring a call to ministry. This year’s event brought together middle school and high school students from the Carolinas and as far away as Delaware. FOTC was led and organized by the Religion Division, including the help of SWU students, pastors and youth pastors.

Southern Wesleyan University students and faculty led worship, guided personal reflection, small groups and a campfire fellowship where life-changing stories where shared. By sharing their own personal stories, students shed light on questions normally pondered by individuals feeling led into ministry:

“What does it mean to be called?”

“How can you know if God is calling you to ministry?”

“Once you know and have accepted your calling, what’s the next step?”

Kenneth Wagner, a 2008 SWU alumnus and lead student pastor at Calvary Wesleyan church in Harrington, Del., was lead speaker for the event. Wagner is passionate about seeing students gain an authentic faith in Christ. God’s ministry through Kenneth and Sherry Wagner along with the staff of UNI+ED impacts the lives of more than 200 youth each week.

Southern Wesleyan University is a Christ-centered, student-focused learning community devoted to transforming lives by challenging students to be dedicated scholars and servant-leaders who impact the world for Christ.
