Fellowship of the Called

Open Letter to the Loved Ones of a Teen Called to Ministry

Posted by Roger McKenzie on

Dear Friend,

Who are the high school students you know that God could be calling to ministry? Given the needs that are all around us, I am certain that God is calling high school students to prepare for lives of service in ministry leadership. Many teenagers who hear God calling are like Samuel in the Bible in that they need help to focus in on what God is saying to them.

The Called Camp is a 10-day summer intensive that will provide an avenue that does not currently exist for high school students to explore what ministry calling can mean as they look deeply into the scriptures, survey key social issues and moral challenges facing our culture, and anchor their faith as their own.

The design of The Called Camp is experiential and will make the words of the Bible and our theology come alive in the lives of teens as they unpack their callings with passion and insight. Campers will participate in discipling sessions, quiet solo times with God, daily worship, recreation, and an exciting three-day “peak experience” with the track that campers will choose. Those four exciting tracks include the following: Adventure Ministry, Missional Outreach, Women in Ministry, and Worship Ministry.

Further, our track instructors are designing meaningful learning experiences for campers that will help them to experiment in ministry, build skills, and have a great time. We have a number of special guests who will bring wonderful insights to campers. Construction is currently underway on our high ropes course that is being built for this camp!

As you are reading this, I believe that God is bringing to your mind high school students who should come to The Called Camp. Please help them find their way to this life-changing experience by doing the following: 1) Share the camp information with them; 2) Consider offering camp scholarships from your church or ministry to kids who are called; 3) Continue to walk alongside those that God is calling. This packet includes a poster, some flyers, and our website includes images for sharing information through your social media presence.
