FULL-TIME FACULTY - MEDIA COMMUNICATION

Southern Wesleyan University seeks candidates for two tenure-track faculty positions in Communication to add strength to its growing Media Communication program. These positions are available August 2012 and are located at our main campus in Central.

Responsibilities

    SWU’s Media Communication degree consists of 45 units drawn from a variety of areas, including journalism, multimedia production, media criticism, communication and media theory, law, ethics and persuasion.

Requirements

    The successful candidates must be able to teach in several of the areas mentioned above. The Media Communication program features multi-media production suites equipped with Macintosh computers and software specific to digital production. Successful candidates will likely be able to teach digital approaches to non-linear editing. Facility and experience in the use of media technology is expected. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Communication (or communication-related area). Knowledge of Final Cut Pro and Soundtrack Pro is preferred. The ability to work in a small, interdisciplinary department is also a plus. The university is a Christian liberal arts institution in the Wesleyan-Holiness theological tradition. Faculty are expected to endorse the university’s Mission and Statement of Faith and to support the lifestyle expectations of the institution.
