RESIDENT DIRECTOR & COORDINATOR OF STUDENT ACTIVITIES
Responsibilities
The Resident Director provides overall leadership of the residence hall or apartments and assists with the leadership of the residence life department. The RD promotes the spiritual development of students and supports the educational goals of the university by building personal relationships, modeling desired values, attitudes and behavior, and providing educational programs. As the Coordinator of Student Activities, collaboration would occur with the Student Government Association and their activities representative. Responsibilities include coordinating plans and implementing co-curricular programming and activities that enhance the educational, social and intellectual experience of students at the university. A dual reporting structure exists, reporting to the Director of Residence Life and the Associate Vice President for Student Life.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is required with a master’s degree in college student personnel, counseling or related field preferred. The RD/Coordinator must be energetic, creative, passionate for students and programming; must have good interpersonal and communication skills, good organizational skills and attention to detail. The RD/Coordinator must give evidence of a mature Christian lifestyle demonstrating values and beliefs consistent with the evangelical Christian mission of the university, its community lifestyle standards and the ability to relate and work effectively with people.
