Celebrating presidential service
State Representative B.R. Skelton, right, presents to Southern Wesleyan University President David Spittal a resolution from the S.C. House of Representatives honoring Spittal’s 17 years of service, as he prepares to retire June 30. Community leaders joined university administrators and officials of The Wesleyan Church to pay tribute to Spittal during a celebration banquet April 5 at Founders’ Hall on the university’s campus in Central. Spittal and his wife Donna plan to move to Illinois, where they will live near their children and grandchildren. Southern Wesleyan is currently engaged in a nationwide search for a new president.
