Southern Wesleyan honors top students during convocation

Southern Wesleyan University recognized the achievements of outstanding seniors during honors convocation, held April 26 in Newton Hobson Chapel and Fine Arts Center on the campus in Central.

Chen Chen, right, a senior communication major from Hefei, China, is congratulated by Dr. David Spittal, university president, during the ceremony. Chen, a spring graduate, was inducted into the Southern Wesleyan chapter of Alpha Chi, a national honor society for college juniors and seniors; received an American Legion award; and was named to “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.” She was also recognized for her honors presentation titled “Prosperity in China: Implications for Cultural Change.” Southern Wesleyan University will be having graduation ceremonies May 5 and 7.
