The Dome of the Rock is among the most visible landmarks in the city of Jerusalem, one of the destinations included in a 10-day tour of the Holy Land this November. The tour is being organized by Dr. Jim Bross, Southern Wesleyan University alumnus and professor emeritus of religion.
Holy Land tour to be spiritual experience of a lifetime
Journey to the Holy Land and expect the spiritual experience of a lifetime, visiting places where the Bible comes alive and walking where Jesus walked.
Dr. Jim Bross, Southern Wesleyan University alumnus and professor emeritus of religion, will host a 10-day tour, Nov. 1-10. Bross, who has studied the Holy Land extensively, was inspired after a 2008 trip, not only to return in 2010, but to share the experience with others.
“I was inspired by new knowledge and by the experience of walking where biblical figures walked, walking where my Lord walked, prayed, healed and died,” Bross said. “I believe others will be thrilled and inspired by this trip, and that is why I decided to organize this tour.”
Tour highlights include a cruise on the Sea of Galilee, a visit to the Mount of Olives and a tour of the old city of Jerusalem. The tour will follow the steps of Jesus, going to Tabgha, scene of the Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes; the Mount of the Beatitudes, where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount and chose his 12 apostles; the Via Dolorosa; the Church of the Holy Sepulchre; the Garden of Gethsemane; and the town of Bethlehem.
The cost is $2,699 from Atlanta. This includes roundtrip airfare, first class hotels, breakfast and dinner daily, services of a professional tour director and comprehensive sightseeing. Also included are all hotel service charges and local taxes, porterage and entrance fees. Airport taxes and fees are not included.
