Wilson named communications director at Southern Wesleyan
Greg Wilson was recently named as the new director of communications at Southern Wesleyan University.
Wilson has extensive communications and marketing experience, particularly in higher education. While he most recently has served as a regional trainer/consultant for Apple, Inc., he also served as director of marketing/communications for Anderson University for six years and as a public information director at Clemson University for 10 years. Wilson was also an editorial page editor for the Anderson Independent-Mail and published articles in Christianity Today, the New York Times and Rolling Stone. Articles he has published include interviews with Billy Graham and Bob Dylan.
“Southern Wesleyan is blessed to welcome someone like Greg Wilson, who brings a great level of experience and creativity along with institutional mission fit to our campus,” said Dr. Todd Voss, president of Southern Wesleyan. “There are a variety of positions a University needs that are often difficult to fill due to the specialized nature of the roles. The Director of Communications is one of those.”
Wilson completed his BA in English at Carson-Newman College, attended Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is actively involved in pastoral care and counseling ministries at Newspring Church in Anderson.
