Mitchell presents ministry award

Dr. Virgil Mitchell, left, presented the V.A. Mitchell Excellence in Pastoral Ministry Award to Rev. Bruce Hopper, second from left, pastor of Greenwood Hills Wesleyan Church in High Point, N.C. Hopper was the tenth recipient of the award, which salutes pastors who have made a significant impact in the development of their churches and communities. The presentation was made during Southern Wesleyan University’s annual Area Minister’s Conference, which attracts about 150 spiritual leaders from the region. Also pictured are Dr. Mitchell’s wife, Mary, and Rev. Henry Williams, Hopper’s district superintendent.
