Prayer Path
Southern
Wesleyan University students, from left, Amanda Baker
of Salisbury, N.C.; Renee McNamara of Rochester, N.Y.;
and Jessica LaRue of Durham, N.C., participate in a Prayer
Path held in Bryant Lodge on the university campus in
Central. The Prayer Path is a labyrinth with stops along
the way that direct participants in different areas of
prayer. At this stop, the students are being instructed
to pray about a problem. They are then to pick up one
of the stones and drop it in the bucket of water. This
is to symbolize their letting go of their problem and
allowing God to take control. The Prayer Path is a part
of Southern Wesleyan University’s emphasis on prayer
this semester. Baker is a religion major, McNamara is
majoring in sports management and LaRue is an elementary
education major.
