Dr. Jacob Chapman

As a third-year undergraduate mechanical engineering student, Dr. Chapman dreamed of the engineering career. Instead, God drew him to become a mathematics professor, obtaining a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2013. Answering the Lord's call to move to South Carolina, Dr. Chapman began teaching at SWU in 2014 and is excited to be in Christian higher education. Dr. Chapman enjoys music, its connections with mathematics, playing the saxophone, studying Spanish, and spending time with his wife, Marla.
