Success Coach Program

“Providing the tools to build student success”

What is the Success Coach Program?

By answering the question, “How can SWU help you to become more effective in the classroom?” the Success Coach program was designed to help students improve the likelihood of maintaining academic scholarships. Each student in the program is paired one-on-one with a coach. In these meetings, academics will be the main focus. The meetings are individualized to the student. Some examples of topics discussed are time management, note taking and test anxiety. We hope that through this relationship, students will gain new skill sets that will help them with their success here at SWU.

Who are the coaches?

The coaches are staff and interns at Southern Wesleyan University who have volunteered their time for this program. They are individuals who are committed to the success of the students at SWU.

Who can participate?

Any student is allowed to participate. If they feel the need for additional support and/or accountability, they can sign up for the program at anytime.

Who do I contact to participate as a coach or student?

The program coordinator is Beth Stuart in the Retention and First Year Experience office. You may reach Beth by e-mail. Renee Sims is the Counseling Center secretary. You may reach Renee by e-mail.
