Message to Parents

Dear Parent(s) or Guardian(s):

Sending a son or daughter to college is a major milestone for any parent. The experience is mixed with highs and lows, joy and some sadness. We believe it gets easier once you take that first leap of faith.
Our goal is to create an orientation experience that encourages you and your student in a way that reassures you of the decision you have made in choosing Southern Wesleyan University. SWU is a community that values every individual. Your role as a parent is an integral part of the success your student will achieve.  We hope that you will partner with us in our efforts to educate and expand the knowledge of your son or daughter.

We have a schedule for students and for parents. The parents’ schedule will contain sessions regarding academics, financial aid, the Parents’ Council, a session on the significance of transitions and our signature ceremony for both students and parents called “Passing the Mantle.”

It will be our delight to have you on campus and look forward to meeting you at the fall 2009 orientation.
