SWU Health Center

This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. Proverbs 3:8

Services offered in the Southern Wesleyan University Health Center
include:
  • Provide first aid
  • provide non-prescription medications.
  • Perform blood pressure screenings, urinalysis, rapid strep testing, rapid influenza testing, and visual screenings.
  • Weight screenings and assistance with weight management.
  • Free pregnancy screenings.
  • Pregnancy counseling for both planned and unplanned pregnancies
  • Referrals for STD testing and counseling
  • Educational Services include:  Self Care Handouts and Brochures, Monthly E-Newsletters for employees and students, Presentations for classes on health and wellness topics
  • Wellness Week each spring
  • Flu Vaccination Clinic each year
  • Blood Drive each semester
  • The Health Center Bulletin Board contains significant, interesting and valuable information each moth concerning your health, wellness and safety.

University Nurse
Lori Herron earned her BSN degree from Clemson University in Clemson. She has served as a nurse for more than eight years. Her experience includes working with a hospital, family practice medicine, and public school nursing.

Campus Physician
Local area doctors are in the Health Center each week to students on a first come first serve as needed basis.

Bulletin Board
The health center bulletin board contains significant, interesting and valuable information each month concerning health, wellness and safety. The bulletin board is to provide information to students, faculty and staff on how to live a physically, spiritually and emotionally healthy life.

  • Clemson Health Center-Urgent Care
    885 Tiger Blvd. (Highway 123 across from Ruby Tuesday’s)

    Hours: M-F 8 a.m. – 8p.m.
    Saturday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
    Sunday 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.

  • Oconee Memorial Hospital
    Take Highway 93, exit onto Highway 123, follow Highway 123 into Seneca. You will go straight through five stoplights. At the sixth stoplight, you will take a right. Go to the stop sign and turn left. Follow the signs to the emergency room.

  • Cannon Memorial Hospital
    Take Highway 93 to Liberty. Go through two stoplights. At the third stoplight, take a left on to Highway 178. Follow 178 into Pickens. Cannon Memorial is on your left after the road divides into four lanes.

  • Palmetto Baptist Hospital
    Take Highway 123 North to Highway 8. Take Highway 8 West to Highway 135 N, crossing over the railroad tracks and turning left on to North “A” Street. The hospital is on the left.
