In high school I never thought I would go away from home for college. I thought I would go to a state school that was near my house. However, someone at my church kept telling me I should check out Southern Wesleyan. So, I came to SWU for one of the visit days my junior year of high school thinking I would probably rule it out. However, I was so glad I chose to visit! I could truly feel God’s presence on this campus! It was such a wonderful experience! From that point on I pretty much knew that this is where God wanted me to be!

So I came, nervous and scared to leave home! However, it wasn’t long before I made great friends and wr're still close now that I'm in my senior year! I am convinced that God strategically placed me where he wanted me in the freshman dorm to be surrounded by great people and a wonderful Resident Assistant. My sophomore and junior year I was a Resident Assistant! That truly changed my life and I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to take part in that ministry!

I am an elementary and early childhood education major. It's great to have professors who truly care about their students and iIt is so nice to know that they are available to help and that they truly care about your learning.

As I look back I am so thankful that God led me to SWU. I have made lifelong friendships, learned a great deal about being a teacher, but most of all I have grown closer to my Lord and Savior!
