Southern Wesleyan University invites the public to join them in welcoming U.S. Special Operations Command Marines on the Central campus June 17.

Each year, these service personnel, who have been deployed overseas one or more times, will travel by motorcycle and Jeep escort to Lake Keowee to enjoy a period of rest and relaxation. This year’s escort will begin at the Gilbert Track and Field Complex, located along Clayton Street on Southern Wesleyan’s campus. There will be a police and motorcycle escort of approximately 40 honored guests, including U.S. Marines, Upstate Warriors (all military branches) and spouses in decorated jeeps, which will be provided by Upstate Legends Jeep Club. The public is invited to join them, starting at Noon. The escort will leave the Central campus at approximately 1:40 p.m. Concessions at the event will include lunch, iced coffees and teas and Italian sodas. For details, visit honoring-their-service.org.
