Dr. Roger McKenzie

TITLE:Professor of Religion
DEPARTMENT:Division of Religion
LOCATION:Nicholson-Mitchell 106
SWU P.O. BOX:1932

Dr. Roger McKenzie has been involved in youth ministry most of his life. Youth ministry helped to shape McKenzie’s life in profound ways. Now, he gets to teach and mentor the next generation of youth pastors who will join in God’s transforming work in the lives of teens. In recent years, outdoor recreation through ropes courses, backpacking trips and kayaking have become an important means of ministry for McKenzie. In his free time, he enjoys paddling and backpacking. Though SWU was completely new to him in 1998, as soon as he stepped onto campus, even before talking with anyone, he knew that this was the place that God wanted him. McKenzie developed and taught SWU's first online course, New Testament Survey.
