Southern Wesleyan University juniors race ahead of the freshmen class, who “abandoned ship”  during a race of makeshift rafts at the pond near Bryant Lodge on the campus of Southern Wesleyan in Central. The sophomores won the race.

Alumni and their family members were treated to athletic events, entertainment, games, and times for reconnecting with one another during the event, which took place Sept. 25 on the university’s campus in Central. Homecoming festivities also included a homecoming chapel service and alumni talent show at Newton Hobson Chapel and Fine Arts Center, reunion luncheons and a barbecue supper. There was also a men’s and women’s cross country meet as well as a volleyball game in which the Lady Warriors defeated Brenau 3-1. The women’s soccer team lost to Faulkner University 3-1 and the men’s soccer team defeated North Greenville University 3-2. Chen Chen, a junior communication major from Hefei, China, was crowned Homecoming Queen and Carlos Gonzalez, a junior business major from Caracas, Venezuela, was crowned Homecoming King.
