    SWU recently received a donation from Duke Power through SCICU, Inc. George Acker, Duke Power district manager for Anderson/Pickens/Oconee/Abbeville, left, and Wayne Landrith, executive vice president of SCICU, right, present a check to Southern Wesleyan University President David Spittal.

    The Duke Power contribution will be added to the university’s Promise Fund, which provides university-funded scholarship programs, and academic and support programs each year. The Promise Fund is used for programs such as new facilities, internships and state-of-the-art classroom equipment for the Central campus, as well as the university’s sites in Greenville, Columbia, North Augusta and Charleston.
