Joel Seavey, Southern Wesleyan University graduate and finance director for the city of Seneca, S.C., found what he learned at Southern Wesleyan University to be valuable.

“Accounting is something I’ve always enjoyed,” said Seavey, who spent many years in public accounting. He has enjoyed math most of his life and began studying accounting at a technical college. Seavey then went to work for various accounting firms.

Ready to take his career to the next level, Seavey turned to Southern Wesleyan University, where he gained practical experience that has served him well in his profession. He found the Adult and Graduate Studies program perfect for many reasons.

“It was flexible and convenient, with classes meeting at night,” Seavey said. He added that working with study groups and being in a Christian environment were a definite plus.

“What I learned from Southern Wesleyan helped me deal with clients that run small businesses. The business program gave me valuable tools that helped me advise my clients,” he said.
