Williams receives Music scholarship

06.03.14 | Fine Arts Advancement Music Ensemble Scholarships

Allen Williams signed a letter of intent to Southern Wesleyan University's Department of Music. Also at the signing were (from left) Diana McFarlane, choral department head at Seneca High School; Cliff Roberts, Seneca High principal; Karen Trammell, Seneca High counselor; and Tamika Earle, Williams’ sister.

While a student at Seneca High, Williams was a member of the men’s chorus, madrigals and honors chorus and earned All-State honors three times. He is also a multiple-year participant of Boy’s State. Williams will enroll at SWU in Fall 2014, where he will participate in choral ensembles as he prepares to earn his degree in Music at SWU, a National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) accredited institution. He will also participate in the “Call Me Mister” (Mentors Instructing Students Toward Effective Role Models) program.

The music scholarship is renewable and open to students who are active in their school’s music programs and Southern Wesleyan students involved in each of the university’s three performing groups.
