Make community connections at Southern Wesleyan University

Churches, businesses and other local organizations are invited to take part in Southern Wesleyan University’s Community Fair, Tuesday, Aug. 16 from 5-7 p.m.

The Community Fair will take place in Founders’ Hall, the banquet facility of the University Dining Commons at Southern Wesleyan’s campus in Central. According to Chris Collins, coordinator of student activities and resident director of university apartments, this is an opportunity for vendors to interact with 300 to 325 students. He anticipates more than 50 vendors at the Community Fair, ranging from banks and local businesses to churches and student organizations. Vendors will be provided with a table, two chairs and electricity, if needed.

This year, the Office of Student Activities at Southern Wesleyan will continue supporting Camp Hope and suggest that each vendor make a check donation of $25 to the camp. Located at Clemson, Camp Hope is dedicated to individuals with special needs and their families. Southern Wesleyan University will not be receiving any portion of these funds. Although this is optional, vendors are urged to donate to this local community partner.

Vendors planning to attend should e-mail Chris Collins at ccollins@swu.edu or contact him by phone at (317) 750-5386 by Friday, Aug. 12.
