Southern Wesleyan University’s Division of Religion held a commissioning service April 30 at Freedom’s Hill Church on the campus in Central for graduating religion students.

As a part of the service, each senior kneels at the historic kneeling bench, where religion faculty lay hands on the student, and the senior's accountability group leader prays a prayer of blessing for the student. Rev. Tom Harding, pastor of ALIVE Wesleyan Church in Central and a 1991 Southern Wesleyan religion alumnus, gave the sermon.

Southern Wesleyan University is a Christ-centered, student-focused learning community devoted to transforming lives by challenging students to be dedicated scholars and servant-leaders who impact the world for Christ. For details about degree programs, go online to swu.edu.
