Dr. Darryl Jachens

TITLE:Professor Emeritus of Music
DEPARTMENT:Division of Fine Arts

Dr. Darryl Jachens served as a SWU Fine Arts Division faculty member from 1987 until his retirement in 2017.

With his assistance, the SWU Music Department was selected for membership in the National Association of Schools of Music in 2008. In April 2014, Jachens was named Faculty Member of the Year for 2014-15 and received the Ken Dickens Award for Excellence in Teaching, an award that recognizes outstanding teaching, service to the university, service to students, and scholarship.

His community involvement included Music Director and Conductor of the Greenville Concert Band, an adult community band serving the Upstate region of South Carolina.
